We are pleased to announce that Mr. Chen Haiteng ("Mr. Chen"), former President of Huobi Japan, the Japanese subsidiary of Huobi Group which provides crypto asset trading and asset management services to ten millions users in over 170 countries worldwide, has been appointed as Director of BLOCKSMITH&Co. (Headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tetsuya Sanada, President & CEO; hereinafter "BLOCKSMITH").
BLOCKSMITH was established in April this year as a subsidiary of KLab Inc. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hidekatsu Morita) and is currently engaged in two projects;
1) GameFi using popular Japanese Manga IP
2) Learn and Earn service ‘Quizo.ooo’
Each project is currently under development.
Each project is expected to publish applications, tokens (crypto assets), NFTs etc. from their respective partner companies, with a view of listing on a crypto asset exchange (IEO) together with the partner companies.
Mr. Chen has deep experience and knowledge in crypto asset related business such as IEO and has extensive contacts in the global crypto asset industry. Mr. Chen will be responsible for all crypto asset related activities at BLOCKSMITH.
With the addition of Mr. Chen, BLOCKSMITH will further advance its growth strategy in the global Web3 market.
Biography of Mr. Chen Haiteng
Born in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China. He holds a B.A. in Japanese Language from Xiamen Municipal University of Technology and an M.A. in Economics from Kobe University Graduate School of Economics.
After working for NTT West, he became the Chief Representative of Baidu China in Japan in 2006 and the President & CEO of Baidu Corporation.
In 2018, he was appointed President & CEO of Huobi Japan Co. He was responsible for the launch of the Japanese subsidiary, from the establishment of the company to its operation. Acquired BitTrade and completed registration as a Type 1 Financial Instruments Dealer.
Supported many IEOs in Japan and abroad for blockchain projects originating from Japan; listed 22 tokens in 2022 and led Huobi to become the No. 1 stock on Japanese exchanges.
Message by Mr. Chen Haiteng
I had seen blockchain projects around the world with my previous position at a crypto asset exchange. I met Mr. Sanada again and heard about his project when application layer projects were starting to grow with the spread of blockchain and I thought GameFi was promising in the future.
I was convinced that the project BLOCKSMITH&Co. pursuing solved the problems of the existing GameFi issues and would succeed worldwide.
